The Minnesota Resistance Cookbook.
The Minnesota Resistance Cookbook is a community-powered collection of recipes, stories, and shared care. Created by neighbors across Minnesota, this book celebrates the food that sustains us — at potlucks, around kitchen tables, and in moments when community matters most. Through shared recipes and collective effort, this project transforms everyday acts of nourishment into tangible support for people across our state.
Every decision we make is shaped by a clear sense of purpose - caring for our communities and each other.
Scope
This inaugural edition will feature approximately 60–120 recipes contributed by community members across Minnesota. The collection will reflect the diverse food traditions, comfort dishes, and potluck culture that define Minnesota kitchens — from hotdish classics to cherished family recipes from all families that have been passed through generations. In addition to recipes, the cookbook will include contributor reflections, practical kitchen guidance, and community-centered interludes that highlight resilience, care, and collective strength. The tone of the book will be warm, welcoming, and rooted in shared purpose.
Financial TransparencyThe Minnesota Resistance Cookbook is a community fundraiser rooted in care and accountability. Funds raised through cookbook sales are used first to cover the direct and necessary costs of producing the book, including printing, materials, and basic fulfillment. All remaining proceeds — 100% — are donated to mutual aid and community relief organizations serving people across Minnesota. No profits are retained by organizers.
A summary of total revenue, production costs, and donation amounts will be shared publicly after each major fundraising cycle to ensure transparency and maintain community trust.
